Welcome to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Westfields International School!

Westfields International School is a candidate school * for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education – that we believe is important for our students.

 * Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

Overview of the IBDP Program:

  • Global Recognition: The IBDP is recognized worldwide for its rigorous academic standards and holistic approach to education. Our program prepares students for university and careers in an increasingly interconnected world.

  • Well-Rounded Curriculum: The IBDP curriculum includes six subject groups, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education. Students study languages, sciences, mathematics, humanities, and the arts, allowing them to explore their interests and develop a broad skill set.

  • Theory of Knowledge (TOK): An integral part of the IBDP, the Theory of Knowledge course challenges students to reflect on the nature of knowledge and how we know what we claim to know. This course fosters critical thinking and encourages students to explore different perspectives.

  • Extended Essay (EE): Students undertake an independent research project, culminating in a 4,000-word essay. The Extended Essay allows students to investigate a topic of interest in depth, developing their research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): The CAS component encourages students to engage in extracurricular activities that promote personal growth and community service. Students are required to participate in creative pursuits, physical challenges, and community service projects, fostering a sense of responsibility and engagement.

  • Preparation for University: Our IBDP is designed to equip students with the skills they need for success in higher education. The program emphasizes critical thinking, research skills, and effective communication, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges of university life. The IBDP is accepted by both local and international universities, providing students with a wide range of options for their future studies.

  • Cultural Awareness and Global Citizenship: The IBDP promotes intercultural understanding and respect for diverse perspectives. Students learn about global issues and are encouraged to become active, responsible participants in their communities and the world.

At Westfields International School, we are committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for our future IBDP students. Our dedicated educators will guide students through this transformative program, helping them become confident, compassionate, and globally-minded individuals.
