Westfields offers an enhanced, integrated curriculum that caters to a wide array of lessons and, at the same time, provides an in-depth presentation of concepts.  This gives our students from Grade1 to Grade 5 and edge as they persue their future education locally or internationally.

Skills are developed through activity-rich lessons that are geared towards the development of 21st century skills while tapping into students' multiple intelligences.  The development of the 4 C's (communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking) is reflected in the activities that comprise the students' day.

The Sports Program offers swimming, gymnastics, soccer, futsal, badminton, and basketball.  We aim to provide experiences that will tap into the holistic development of the students using sports that are embedded in the curriculum.  Students change sports each quarter to provide a well-rounded athletic experience.

  • Grade 1:  Badminton, Soccer, and Swimming
  • Grades 2 and 3: Badminton, Soccer, and Basic Gymnastics
  • Grades 4 and 5:  Badminton, Dodgeball, Soccer, and Basketball

We recognize that music helps develop language and reasoning and we entrench the use of musical instruments in our curriculum.  Students learn to play the bell lyre in 1st and 2nd grade.  They then move on to the flute recorder for 3rd and 4th grade and the violin in 5th grade.  Musical performances are showcased during multiple school activities to put the children at ease when they are performing in front of a crowd.

Students are guided towards becoming socially responsible global citizens through performance tasks, service learning, and outreach activities. This year, students will have performance tasks that allow them to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the classroom in real world situations.  Performance tasks present the students with situations that require them to apply their in-class learning in context.  Understanding is revealed when students can transfer and apply their learning.

This is also a way to foster empathy and nurture connections for students with both people and the natural world.  It includes the development of empathy, compassion, and a desire to help others.  Students' capacities are built through the development of dispositions, knowledge, skills, and understanding.

The education that your child receives in Grade School is very beneficial not only to the students, but also to the world at large.  Westfields recognizes the potential in every individual.  We hope that we can establish a partnership to provide the best education possible for our learners.
